Chatsworth, NJ. May 30, 2011.

Anne finally convinced Ellie and Kuau that they should go kayaking together, so off we went.  Mick's Canoe and Kayak Rentals is a relatively large operation, doing great business today (Memorial Day).

Since I wasn't about to sit in a kayak for two hours, the three of them rented a 2-person and a solo kayak for a two hour trip.  I meanwhile drove towards Tuckerton to walk around, but was sidetracked by a McDonald's restaurant.

They returned soon after I got back to the rental place with all of them in swimming suits.  Turns out in trying to duck under a fallen log across the river, Anne - on the solo kayak - flipped over and got herself soaked.  The water was not even waist deep, so she was in no danger; yet she managed to lose both her glasses and the camera.  Good thing they all brought a change of dry clothes.

Raring to get into the water.

Ready to go.

They are off!  Anne will come back without her camera and eyeglasses.

Took the local route suggested by Garmin, which worked very well since we expected horrendous traffic on the Parkway.

Had an early dinner at Nonna's, which did away with the family-sized dishes for more traditional ones.
